I want to work with a team of people who are bright and enjoy development as much as I do. An ideal company will have professional development and growth opportunity. EDUCATION I am non-traditional student and am more than two-thirds the way through a degree in Computer Science from UT Austin. WORK HISTORY Senior Developer, MRE Consulting / BurrWolff Property Tax 10/20/2004 - 11/28/2006 * Ported into C#.Net portions of a FoxPro application, quickly becoming the technical reference among my colleagues. In the end, with the framework in place, we had the choice of tweaking interface or writing SQL statements for data exports and reports, so I chose optimizing the SQL. * We generated parameterized reports and data exports using C# .Net, ASP.NET, SQL Server 2000 and Crystal Reports for the dominant portion of the year, often having custom work from large clients, but spent November to April repairing yearly updates to forms in FoxPro. * Much time was also spent maintaining and supporting various bits of the existing architecture while upgrading individual modules. * I was able to apply quickly the volumes of information on methods and terminology pertaining to the calculation and identification of property tax. * Deadlines often became tight, and we had to be able to transition quickly from project to project and language to language while staying careful to balance several projects at once., Senior Developer, StrataSoft 06/23/2002 - 10/19/2004 * I was asked back to StrataSoft after creating a web version of their current reporting system. (See entry below) * I was initially hired to create a robust FoxPro Maintenance application utilizing ZLIB archiving library, MSXML, SMTP, FoxFix5 Library, Tree view, Win API and Systray, I showed such moxie that I was immediately given revision control over one of their major application suites consisting of three applications designed to interface with their telephony software. * While adding useful new features, fixing inherited bugs, converting the system from a FoxPro to SQL Server backend and adding support for language translation, I found time to design and teach a Training Class for our customers at a Las Vegas conference, help tech support learn more about development, and become the local technical reference. * More recently I was the Lead Developer on a project of high importance to the company utilizing C#.Net, ASP.NET, Web Methods, SQL server, Visual FoxPro 8, and other minor tools to create a secure scheduling system for a variable number of doctor offices via the web, attended phone and unattended phone systems. Because of the complexity of the project, I worked hand in hand with the client for week to perfect the final spec. * I often employed my skills in ASP, HMTL, CSS and JavaScript to help customers and the help desk learn to customize and extend their applications. Information Architect/Development Consultant, Simply Logical 07/04/2001 - 06/23/2002 * StrataSoft - Created new web interface for existing reporting system for their proprietary software with emphasis on XML and XSLT. * Vats Intercontinental - New Development/Feature Enhancement for desktop applications, server-side components, network administration, database administration, web design, and asp pages for the popular website "Switchemail.com". * Micropaq Corp. - Complete Redesign of Micropaqcorp.com with some great bells and whistles. ASP/Oracle Developer, Halliburton / Sai Software 06/01/2000 - 07/01/2001 * Primary Job function was maintaining an ERP project that utilized Oracle 7.0, Visual Interdev 6.0 with Visual Source Safe 6.0. The ERP module was to fit into an existing "Request for Service" system, which already contained hundreds of ASP pages, and several base tables in Oracle. * I was primary caretaker for the web server and database servers, and did most of the local troubleshooting for the team. * In addition to our ERP portion, I helped make changes to other modules in the RFS system, and also wrote a dynamic survey/quiz web app for a the company's Computer Based Training division.
